Yellow Moon on the Rise Kachina
The Yellow Moon on the Rise Kachina is made almost entirely from salvaged metal. It features a thunderbird image plasma cut by hand into the steel based on a petroglyph found in Legend Rock near Cody, Wyoming (photo #10). Additionally, there is an owl welded to the body, the rust removed to provide some silvery contrast. The bright yellow resin head is infused with a subtle sprinkling of ground turquoise from the American Southwest.
A bend in the metal near the bottom gives the piece an added three dimensional quality.
