The Ties That Bind Shaman
A celebration of ancient rock art and rust, The Ties That Bind Shaman is made almost entirely from salvaged metal. The head is made of resin and mica powder, including ground turquoise from the American Southwest. The body contains a copper plate that has some subtle petroglyph-inspired images etched into it. The hair/feathers and arms come from old snap ties used in construction.
The piece features images plasma cut by hand into the steel inspired by a petroglyph panel found in Indian Creek Canyon in Utah.
