Inspired by ancient rock art, rust, and the human spirit, The Fire Inside Shaman is made predominately from salvaged metal. Plasma cut by hand, the image is based on a Classic Vernal style shield figure found near Vernal, Utah (photo #8/Mark Byzewski). The abstract head is made of resin, mica powder, and a dusting of ground turquoise from the American Southwest. The arms, thrust up toward the sky, come from snap ties used in construction. The base is a an old St. Pierre American Professional horseshoe.
