She Who Watches (No. 4)

$449.00

She Who Watches is based on the Wishram story of Chief Tsagaglalal (Suh-GOG-la-lal), a woman who lived on the cliffs above the Columbia River. One day Coyote came along and asked the chief what her greatest wish would be.

"I would like to watch over my people forever," Tsagaglalal said.

Coyote, being a powerful trickster, turned her into a rock.

Chief Tsagaglalal is still there today, watching over us. You can find her petroglyph/pictograph at Columbia Hills State Park near Dallesport, Washington.

This particular She Who Watches also includes two other figures, each measuring approximately 22.5 inches by 4 inches. All three pieces are made almost entirely from repurposed metal. The rust has been removed from the head for added contrast.

Ready to hang on the wall, this marriage of rustic and fine art makes an unforgettable gift for you or someone else... because everyone needs someone to watch over them.

Plus, 10% of profits go to the Navajo Water Project (navajowaterproject.org).
