No Fears Alone at Night Shaman

$449.00
sold out

A tribute to ancient rock art, following your own path, and the music of Dire Straits (a different kind of rock art), the No Fears Alone at Night Shaman is made almost entirely from repurposed metal. The head is made of resin and mica powder, including ground turquoise from the American Southwest. The metal headdress comes from old snap ties used in construction and still holds traces of concrete.

It features an Ancestral Pueblo-inspired image plasma cut by hand into the steel inspired by a pictograph found at Bears Ears National Monument in southeastern Utah. The meaning, of course, is open to interpretation. Some see a sheep on a skateboard. Personally, it takes me back to a track on one of my favorite albums: Making Movies. "But the music make her want to be the story/And the story was whatever was the song what it was."

Ready to hang inside or under a "convenient streetlight," this marriage of rustic and fine art makes an unforgettable gift for you or someone else.

Plus, 10% of profits from this sale go to the Navajo Water Project (navajowaterproject.org).
