Inspired by ancient rock art, rust, and a Hopi legend, Blue Corn Maiden No. 2 is made almost entirely from reclaimed metal. Plasma cut by hand, the shiny three-dimensional anthropomorphic figure stands in sharp contrast to the rusty background. An old stove burner cover holds a pool of resin, which is infused with actual ground turquoise and blue cornmeal from the American Southwest as well as a shot of high quality glow-in-the-dark powder. The hair/feathers come from old snap ties commonly used in construction. Watch video below.
